My second lot of beans have been ravaged. I suspect the thriving slug population as the beer traps have been washed out in all the rain.
Am SO temped to buy pellets but will start sneaking about with a jar full of salt....

I admit that I do use slug pellets because I would have absolutely nothing left in the garden if I didn't. My one saving grace is that I go around with a jamjar and a pair of chopsticks and pick up all the slugs and snails so that the birds aren't tempted to eat them.
I'm there with you both. I did one round of slug killer due to the damage being done(& picked up the dead ones too). Now I'm also doing a patrol with my sharp shovel and slicing them (the fastest way to the end I hope). The population is decreasing.
All the new seedlings I planted out today may call in the slug reserves though. Round two, here we go.
I'll try salt and then the slicing. Just had some new seed through so ding, ding, round two....
